Photoshop (Beta) splash screen
Adobe commissioned "Shattered Planes" as the splash screen for Photoshop (Beta): multiple landscapes held inside shards of broken glass, a picture of Photoshop's layer system. It shipped worldwide as the first thing users see when the app opens.

One image, a whole product
A splash screen has a second or two to say what a product is. Layers are Photoshop's oldest idea, so the artwork is built from them: each shard of glass holds its own world, and together they read as one.
Behind it
A making-of film shows the artwork coming together, and a live workflow session on Adobe Live took Adobe's audience of working creatives through the process in real time.
